While some of the enhanced tax incentives of the past several years expired in January, placing a qualifying conservation easement on property continues to provide extremely attractive tax benefits to landowners. David provides a refresher on the tax benefits, reviews what conservation easements are and what types of property qualify for the tax benefits. David also discusses the timely topics of how easements may apply to land with gas/oil leases as well as to energy crops used to cultivate renewable energy.
